Awakigahara Forest Park
Located on the Hitotsuba coastline facing the sea of Hyuga, most of the park is covered by a pine forest. There are walkways winding their way through the pine forest and along the parkway with a length of 4.2km, where you can enjoy taking a walk, running or cycling. There are also famous locations which appear in the Mythology of Japan around the park. Eda shrine famous from the mythology of [Kuni-umi] or [birth of a nation] and the pond where Izanamino-Mikoto a deity who entered the underworld washed away his impurities are some of the locations which can be visited. You can relax in the tranquility of the forest and enjoy flowers of each season here as well.
