Nichinan Coast

An area which can’t be missed if you want to enjoy southern Kyushu. A coastline rich in nature from its unique land structure with a culture and diversity found only here.

The 120 km stretch is designated as a national park, with the unique rock formations of the Oni-no-sentakuita(Devil’s washboard) in the Aoshima area, wild monkeys known for their unique behavior of washing sweet potatoes in sea water on Kojima Island and wild Misaki horses designated as a natural monument, lazily grazing on grass in Cape Toi, Kushima city.

There are even “best photo” spots designated along the nichinan coastline to help you get that perfect shot.
