Kiritachigoe

In the first ever national civil war of Japan between Genji and Heishi, the remaining members of the defeated house of Heishi are said to have used this path to escape to Shiiba Village.

This area is abundant with bird life and high altitude plant life with many Rhododendron and a primeval forest. The 12 km long Kiritachigoe trekking course which runs along the ridge of the Kiritachi mountain range is also recommended.
